An exclusive and remarkable visit in the PETROF Factory and the PETROF Museum on the 12 August 2015, led by His Eminence Cardinal Duka together with the Austrian ambassador in the Czech Republic, His Excellency Dr Ferdinand Trauttmansdorff, and Count von Arco-Zinneberg with his spouse from the Vysoký Chlumec Castle. His wife is the Archduchess of Austria, granddaughter of Karl I of Austria, who was our last Austro-Hungarian emperor and subsequently the last king of Bohemia.
The Hradec Králové pianist Matyáš Novák played us a 30-minute medley of compositions written by significant musical composers.
Thank you very much. It is astonishing what you have managed to rescue here!
I would like to express our gratitude for an intriguing tour and the care of all those who devoted themselves to us – of course, the greatest thanks belongs to Mrs Zuzana Ceralová-Petrofová for her commentary. It is marvellous to see how a family tradition in a field in which this country excels for long can develop and proceed.
On behalf of the Czech National Bank
Thank you for an amazing and delightful tour of grand and upright piano manufacturing. We admire both tradition and the present and we keep our fingers crossed for the Petrof company.
I cannot properly express my joy at seeing this venerable company having found its feet in the 21st century so fast.
Heartfelt thanks for the invitation!
An enchanting transformation of wood and metal into a masterful instrument. I have rejoiced greatly over the labour and craft in this place, thank you!
