A tour of the PETROF Museum is a way back in time that traces the historical line of a famous Czech family and company.
The Museum is dedicated to the company’s founder, Mr Antonín Petrof, and his wife Marie Petrofová. Since the days of Antonín and Marie, instruments have gradually evolved up to their contemporary form.
We will talk about the Petrof family’s individual generations, which shaped the history of the whole company. We will also present their tangled life stories set in the context of their era.
In the museum, you will be introduced to instruments that represent a cross-section of what the company has produced within more than 150 years of its existence. Together, we will view unique grand pianos, upright pianos and harmoniums from various time periods.
You will try for yourself what it is like to play an instrument with your own efforts. Some instruments will even play for you on their own. All of them will reveal their original sound to you. Moreover, you will see exactly what starts happening from your first touch of the key to the final tone. So, do not wait any longer and visit our Museum!
